Summer Reading Program Kick-Off
"Fizz, Boom, Read!" for Ages 12 and Under
"Spark a Reaction" for Ages 13 through 18
The Scheer Genius Wacky Science Show!
More than just whiz, bang, poof and pop, Dr. Science puts science in the hands of volunteers from the audience.
This 45 minute program is for all ages.
11:45-12:45 p.m.
Carousel Acres Petting Farm
On hand will be a miniature horse, donkey, goats, sheep, an alpaca, a calf, bunnies and ducks for children to meet, feed and pet.  An animal caretaker will be available to answer questions and share interesting facts about these wonderful animals.Refreshments will also be provided at Farmers Market

“Super Stories”
Book club for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade, we will be reading a variety of books based on a theme. We will also do a craft and have a light snack. Registration is required.

“Drummunity!” with Lori Fithian
Musical experience is not necessary.  Join us for this high energy, interactive, fun and empowering event for all ages.

“Crafty Readers”
This book group is for children who are in 2nd and 3rd grade. This hour long program includes a book discussion as well as activities, a craft and a snack. Registration is required and the first ten kids to sign up can pick up a borrowing copy of the book from the Youth Reference desk.

“Wild About Books!”
Take an exciting look at animals from all around our world in this live animal presentation for ages 4 and up.

Big Truck and Emergency Vehicle Day
One of our most popular events for all ages. We will host a large variety of trucks and emergency vehicles for children and adults of all ages to experience, rain or shine. The parking lot will be closed during this event to allow freedom to browse, tour and talk to the owners and operators of the wonderful machines that make our lives easier and safer. Bring your camera, there will be plenty of photo opportunities with the vehicles and a surprise guest.

Naturalist Endeavors Presents: Portable Pond Ecology
Kids in grades 2 to 4 will learn about the different kinds of ponds, the types of animals that live in the ponds and what makes each pond unique.  Naturalist Randy Baker brings a variety of small pond creatures from multiple ponds.  Students will have a chance to be scientists, get their hands wet, make observations, capture and sort the small creatures and learn the importance of our wetland habitats.  Registration is required and begins July 1st.

Acting Up Theater Presents:
"The Terrible Misgivings of Dr. Frankenmuth"
Dr. Frankenmuth had a terrible childhood, his mum and dad never took him to the library, he never got to check out any books, he never got to see any great programs and he missed out on all of the otherwise wonderful things that all of the other children got to experience at the library. So, like many Mad Scientists he has spent his entire life with a resentful axe to grind; but his was against the most innocent of things: Books and Libraries. See what he mixes up to get revenge.
