Children Using the Library

Safety

We encourage children of all ages to visit and enjoy the library. Any child over six is allowed to use the library him or herself. However, we want the library to be a safe and fun experience for children. You can help us accomplish this by not leaving small children unattended, even while you're in the building with them. Remember: if you're uncomfortable with your child walking home alone at closing, please remain with him or her while using the library.

Borrowing Cards

Up to the age of 16, children may have their own borrowing card with parental permission. Parents are responsible for what their children borrow and for assuring that materials are returned or replaced when lost. A parent signature is required when a child is issued a borrowing card.
